Legal Assistant

After working in retail for almost 20 years, Janine Hernandez made the decision to switch careers, and began her legal career in 2005 when she started working at the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office as a Legal Assistant. Janine assisted many prosecutors in the handling of cases in the Felony Division and the Special Victims Unit. After working at the State Attorney’s Office for 3 years, she made the switch to criminal defense, and in 2008 began working at Perlet & Shiner, P.A., as a Legal Assistant.

During her 15 years with Perlet & Shiner, P.A., Janine has been involved in the handling of many serious matters, including many high-profile cases. Janine is extremely dedicated to her work. She always goes the extra mile for clients, expecting nothing in return. She is a rarity in today’s work culture.

Janine truly cares about all clients of the firm and works very hard to reduce our clients’ stress. She takes pride in her work and is immensely loyal and dedicated to Perlet & Shiner, P.A. and our clients.

Janine was born in England and moved to the United States when she was 15 years old. When not in the office, Janine enjoys spending time with her son and her longtime partner. Janine and her partner wind down on the weekends by escaping to the intracoastal waterways on their cherished boat.
