Marc Shiner Retained After Fatal Delray Beach Auto Accident

A fatal auto collision that took place at a downtown Delray Beach intersection is currently under investigation by the Florida Department of Transportation. West Palm Beach criminal defense attorney Marc Shiner is currently representing the 60-year-old driver accused of causing the accident.

The accident took place on September 21, 2016 when the defendant slammed into the driver’s side of an SUV, killing the 82-year-old driver. The man worked as an Uber driver and had been on his way home at the time of the crash. Business owners and residents of the area expressed concern to the Palm Beach Post that an accident was likely to occur in this area due to reduced visibility resulting from an ongoing lane-reduction project.

The Department announced soon after the wreck that is would investigate the intersection of Northeast First Street and northbound Federal Highway to determine if a signal is needed. The study is nearly completed and, pending feedback from the city, will soon be finalized and released.
